Now that I have my “red Ruby” brand new Nissan LEAF, and just simply love it, I naturally want to drive it too, and not just to work and back – I want to drive it all over town, but where can I re-charge?
Well I found a few great places – and people that offer L2 (240V) recharging.
One of them is the NEW Whole Foods Market in Franklin:
http://wholefoodsmarket.com/stores/mcewen/
First I had thought that this was a Joke, because the Google location is showing the EAST part of McEwen which is under Heavy construction and inaccessable for any vehicle. So I turned around and went towards west across I-65 and sure enough it is on Mallory LN corner W. McEwen.
If you type in this address 1566 West McEwen Drive Franklin, TN 37067 USA – google will send you to the wrong spot.
Great!
Today I did a little surveying on the Charging options here in Nashville, so I liked to report my findings:
1. Loews Vanderbilt Hotel
2100 West End Avenue
Nashville, TN 37203
(615) 320-1700
loewshotels.com
Has several Blink 240V chargers in the covered garage area, no charge and very friendly staff to guide you to the location.
2. Midtown Printing
120 20th Avenue South, Nashville, TN 37203-2409 (615) 327-1758 midtownprinting.com
they have a Dryer outlet 240 and a 120V standard outlet in a covered box connector available in their front door parking lot on the left.
3. LightWave Solar Electric LLC
3026 Owen Drive
Nashville, TN 37013
(615) 641-4050
lightwavesolarelectric.com
Does not have any chargers only sells & installs Solar panels, but they are involved with the Solar Covered Parking arrays for Nissan in Smyrna.
4. Toyota Prius Conversion & Electric Vehicle Charging Station
2614 Winford Avenue
Nashville, TN 37211
(615) 573-0367
nashville-scooters.com
Here you will find all kinds of charging options including the J1772 connector, and great friendly people to assist you and learn more about “all things electric that moves”
5. ChargePoint Network Charging Station
800 2nd Avenue South
Nashville, TN 37210
(888) 758-4389
mychargepoint.net
I drove all over the “Government Property” but the Garage was locked up ‘save and sound’ could not find any charging gear inside or out, so for a Weekend trip this is a no-go-too…
Maybe different during the Week – will check it out Monday.
6. The Nissan Dealerships Alexander Nissan and Downtown Nashville Nissan are great guys to work with, one of them even gave me a lift to work while my “hungry” Red Ruby was getting its belly (battery) stuffed full after a longer exhausting trip.
I also heard from the Blink installing electrician that a McDonalds in Goodlettsville (i believe he said) has installed a public accessible Blink 240V charger.
If you see a Google add for the over priced hybrid Chevrolet Volt in any of my post, then please be notified that I do not endorse this manufacturer or there marketing policies as honest and correct, the Volt is nothing but an outdated and old fashion serial hybrid, and according to 1000s of owners does not hold any of the claims that the miss-leading GM concern advertises – as usual!

Bottom line it is not an Electric car!!!!!!!!!!!
